War breaks out at the Florida Horse Park

Battle cries, gun fire and canon blasts shook the Florida Horse Park this weekend during the 31st reenactment of the Ocklawaha River Raid. The original skirmish took place in 1865, when Union troops out of Jacksonville raided Marshall Plantation in Marion County, Florida. The event included Union and Confederate camps, ladies tea, a social ball, period vendors and afternoon battles. Stay tuned for related projects to be announced this spring.
